Maximum eclipse of duration of 1m 39s is at 12:46:28 UT at location 3°30.1'N  11°41.5'E.

This hybrid solar eclipse will be visible across the Atlantic Ocean and Central Africa. This eclipse will be annular only for a few kilometres at its start with a duration of less than 1 second. For the remainder it will be a very narrow and short-lasting total eclipse, with maximum duration around 1½ minutes and with a maximum path width of only 58 km. So this eclipse is unusual as its starts annular and ends total, never reverting to annularity.

This eclipse also has the unusual property in that it is total at the crossing of the Equator and the Greenwich Meridian 0° lat, 0° long. In the 5000 years from -1999 to +3000 there are 15 total eclipses that pass through location "zero-zero". The last total was 16 March 1466, the next one 3 June 2114.

The total eclipse begins in the Atlantic south of Bermuda and ends in Somalia. The partial eclipse will be visible over parts of the Americas, the Atlantic, southern Europe, and most of Africa, between 10:04:34 UT and 15:28:21 UT.
